Internships
Whether you’re interested in the music industry, animation, TV production, gaming, publicity, film financing, screenwriting, advertising, marketing, sports, podcasting, talent management or some other facet of entertainment, you’ll find an internship in Los Angeles that will teach you something about the business. All UTLA students intern with a company within the entertainment industry and enroll in a UT Austin internship course for credit.
How will I get an internship?
Don’t worry, you won’t be on your own for your internship search. Our LA-based team works year-round to develop relationships with industry partners. Once admitted to the program, you’ll have access to an online portal where you’ll learn about industry expectations for resumes and cover letters, and get one-on-one coaching to polish your application materials based on knowledge we get from our industry partners.
Then you’ll get access to the UTLA internship database and sit down with our team to put together an application strategy. The UTLA internship database is full of opportunities with companies where we have a contact or have an established relationship, so it’s a great place to start an internship search.
In my experience mentoring UTLA students, I am consistently impressed by their sharp intellect and their unwavering drive to master the nuances of the entertainment business. They possess the rare combination of talent and tenacity that is essential for success in LA, making them some of the most 'job-ready' candidates entering the field today.
