LA Experience for Freshmen
Start Your Life as a Longhorn in Los Angeles
Spend your first semester in the heart of the entertainment and media industries. Along with a small, select group of peers and supported by outstanding faculty and staff who are committed to your success, you will take seminar style classes with other students studying communications before heading to Austin to continue your on campus journey.

Los Angeles offers a vibrant cultural scene, within a creative atmosphere among iconic studios, film and tv locations and theaters, beautiful beaches and hikes, museums, live music, restaurants, comedy shows and more. You will immerse yourself in Los Angeles as part of a select group of ambitious and adventurous peers. Students who begin their UT Austin experience in LA will build a community with a talented cohort of students, network with current UT Austin students and alumni living in Los Angeles and gain valuable skills.
What to Expect?
Students will take small seminar-style courses that fulfill Moody College of Communication’s course curriculum and participate in engaging field trips and activities designed to enhance your learning experience. Los Angeles will serve as a lab for learning as you and your cohort launch your Longhorn life in the entertainment capital of the world.
